Position Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing engaging learning experiences aligned with the British Columbia Curriculum while creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
Responsibilities
Plan and deliver high-quality instruction aligned with the BC Curriculum.
Create engaging, student-centered learning experiences.
Foster a positive classroom culture built on respect, responsibility, and collaboration.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students. Monitor student progress and provide timely, meaningful feedback.
Maintain accurate assessment records and prepare report cards.
Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and well-being.
Collaborate with colleagues to support school-wide initiatives and professional learning.
Integrate technology to enhance student learning.
Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development.
Support the school's mission, values, and commitment to student success.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent.
Valid BC Teacher Certification or eligibility for certification through the Teacher Regulation Branch (TRB).
Strong understanding of the British Columbia Curriculum.
Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
Commitment to inclusive education and student-centred learning.
Previous elementary teaching experience is an asset.
